Getting My Blog On!
Hello! My name is Nathaniel Morgan. I’m a first-year student at the University of Cumbria. As part of my degree course, I will be writing regular entries in this blog. I’ll share my learning, mistakes (hopefully not too many…), and everything in between. To introduce myself, I thought I’d share a small story about my first experience with cameras.
I was around five when I found and began playing with my dad’s SLR, an Olympus OM1-n (which I now use myself!). I pretended to take photos on safari, almost entirely because I loved the way the shutter clicked. Some years later, my uncle gave me a Lumix DMC-FZ20, it was the best thing ever! That is, until it stopped working after just two weeks. Even now, I smile when I see it on the shelf above my door, remembering how much fun I had. Maybe one day I’ll get it working again.
Now, at eighteen, I’ve decided to turn my love for photography and wildlife into something more serious at university. With the next three years ahead of me this blog will serve as a reference point for myself, as well as a way of sharing my work with you, whoever you may be, in an attempt to further my understanding of photography and critique my own photos for the purpose of self improvement.

Taken on the shore of Derwentwater looking towards Swinside fell.
overall exposure is well balanced, rule of thirds used well.
Herdwick sheep at Crag side stone circle.
the sky is very white, lost a little detail but the sheep are framed well against the fells.
